Susan Myers

 This week, Sue Myers led an agile planning event for a significant new Remote Sensing capability (Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared) for the Air Force. I had expected her to do a little agile training, and facilitate the team’s work to define and capture solid plans for upcoming efforts. She did so much more than that. She challenged us, and helped us define what’s important to the warfighter, what we need from one another, what we need from outside entities, and where our risks are.

 I just want to let you know how much your training sessions have meant to me. After having you with us for two days, I am sensing that not only myself, but also the whole team is inspired with a new vision for the possibilities of using scrum for our development framework.

 I wanted to convey to you my appreciation for the quality of training … In both the Leading SAFe Training and the SAFe Scrum Master Training, the instruction and practical exercises were well targeted to the audience. I was impressed with how you were able to adjust the instruction based on the feedback from the group. This made it much easier to understand how SAFe can be applied to our organization. It is also indicative of your depth of knowledge in the subject matter.

 I wanted to thank you one more time for the incredible job you did. I don't know that I've ever seen this level of excitement and engagement about anything new. People aren't actually dreading work and are optimistic about the future and our ability to deliver quality software on time. The willingness to provide this level of support has resulted in more than one person, both government and contractor, utter the phrase "that's unheard of". With all of the focus on the bottom line and minimizing overhead, a commitment to a project like this was an amazing thing and it has been noted.
